Just a quick post today from our day in Cleveland, Tennessee. We got lucky with clear skies, minimal traffic, and a great view of an extremely interesting phenomenon. About halfway into totality, a large flock of birds started freaking out and flew overhead (they’re the many little dots in the picture below).
The photo isn’t nearly as good what it looked like in real time. It was very sparkly and dynamic; that’s the best I can describe it. In recent weeks, I had read several personal accounts that describe time flying by during an eclipse, but for me it was the opposite. Everything seemed to slow down, and it seemed like longer than a minute and a half. In any case, I’m grateful to have seen one of these in my lifetime and hopefully will have a chance to see another before I peace out. Great stuff.
